Church diversity flag vandalized

A rainbow flag on the lawn of West Dover Congregational Church United Church of Christ on Route 100 was destroyed this weekend.

The pastor of the church has noticed more incidents like this since the election of President Trump. He has plans to replace the flag, as it is inexpensive but portrays the powerful message of "God is still speaking."

A range of responses came from the church's members, such as anger and tears. The pastor sees this as a learning opportunity to educate the members on hate in the community

The destroying of the flag is seen as an attack on ethnic, racial, and gender-oriented minorities. The pastor says the sign represents their love that is stronger than any hate for these groups.

The pastor continues to encourage all to join the congregation to learn of this strong love, no matter your past.
